ROMPERS, the pre-school day nursery run by Campden BRI in Chipping Campden, have opened a forest school.
The nursery, which takes children from three months to five years old, believes it is the first in the area to have an on-site forest and it is proving very popular with the children.
Trips to the forest are managed by nursery nurses Steph Carlin and Anne Onslow-Free who said: "Children visit the forest school once or twice a week and in all weathers. They enjoy being in the natural environment, taking part in games that allow them to explore and investigate, while gaining knowledge of their natural surroundings."
She explained: "Many children find it easier to learn while outdoors so outdoor play and learning is a big part of the children's routine at Rompers, where lessons are carried out in all weathers and at different times of the day."
She added: "We are very lucky to also have a sensory garden, a large wetland area and a pond, which all adds to the quality and variety of the experience we provide."
Parents seeking a nursery place and wishing to visit Rompers should contact the manager Stephanie Carlin on 01386 842191 or view the nursery prospectus
Rompers is a purpose built and OFSTED approved on-site nursery, we are delighted to be able to offer a limited number of day-time places for children (under school–age, between 6 months and 5 years - price on application) of delegates attending one of our training courses or events.
